The Nathebeauty Wig Guide

A little care. Beautiful hair.

Good maintenance keeps your wig fresh, soft and natural-looking for longer. Wig hair doesn't receive your scalp's natural oils, so regular moisture and gentle handling make all the difference.

01Cleanse gently

Washing your unit.

Wash according to wear and product build-up—typically every 2–3 weeks or after around 6–8 wears. Adjust the routine to your unit's care instructions.

Prepare & detangleBefore washing, gently work through tangles from the ends upwards towards the roots. Use a brush or comb suited to your texture. For curly units, avoid forceful dry brushing; loosen tangles gently and complete detangling with conditioner.

Lukewarm waterSaturate the hair with lukewarm water, moving downwards in the direction of the strands. Avoid hot water and keep the hair aligned to reduce tangling.

Sulfate-free shampooUse a small, roughly quarter-sized amount of sulfate-free, colour-safe shampoo. Smooth it gently down the hair shaft and rinse thoroughly.

Keep it gentle: Never scrub, twist or bunch the hair together—this can cause matting.

02Restore moisture

Conditioning for softness.

Apply a rich, moisturising conditioner or suitable deep treatment to the mid-lengths and ends.

Protect the lace knotsKeep heavy conditioner away from the lace knot area where possible. Product around knots can contribute to loosening and shedding.

Detangle while conditionedWith conditioner in the hair, gently use a wide-tooth comb or suitable wet brush. Start at the ends and gradually work upwards, supporting the hair and cap.

Rinse with cool waterRinse thoroughly with cool water for a smooth, fresh finish. Follow your treatment's recommended timing.

03Dry with care

Pat. Don't rub.

Gently press out excess water with a clean microfiber towel or an old cotton T-shirt. Never wring or twist the hair.

Air dry when possiblePlace your unit on a suitable wig stand or canvas block head and let it dry naturally. Make sure the cap dries fully before storing.

If using a blow dryerApply a suitable heat protectant first, then use a low-to-medium heat setting within your unit's heat-care guidance.

04Your everyday routine

Style, store & protect.

Human-hair wigs can be styled with suitable flat irons and curling tools. Always apply thermal protection and follow the unit's recommended heat limits to reduce dryness and damage.

Store properlyUse a wig hanger, stand or mannequin head to help maintain its shape, or a satin/silk dust bag. Avoid leaving the unit crumpled in a drawer where it can tangle.

Nighttime careTaking your wig off nightly is best for longevity. If you sleep in it, use a loose braid or ponytail and a satin/silk pillowcase or satin bonnet to reduce friction.
